November Theme: “Landscapes” 

Terms, Conditions, Rules, and Ethics

1. Eligibility:

  • The contest is open to all CNP Safaris newsletter subscribers.
  • Participants must be 18 years or older.
  • Employees of CNP Safaris and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

2. Entry Requirements:

  • Each participant can submit up to three photos per month.
  • The participant must take the photos personally and they should be nature-themed (wildlife, landscapes, or cultural scenes from nature).
  • Digital submissions only. Photos should be in JPEG format and no larger than 5MB.
  • File Naming: Title_Author_Month (Month of entry)
  • Raw or original jpeg files must be available, should we need to view them.
  • Each photo must be accompanied by a brief description, including the location and date taken.

3. Submission Process:

  • Entries should be emailed to admin@cnpsafaris.com with the subject line “Photo of the Month Submission.”
  • Include your name, contact information, and a brief description of each photo submitted.

4. Contest Timeline:

  • The contest runs from the first to the last day of each month.
  • To be eligible for the contest of that month, entries must be received by 11:59 PM on the last day of the month.

5. Judging:

  • Photos will be judged based on creativity, originality, technical quality, and adherence to the nature theme.
  • The judging panel will consist of CNP Safaris tour leaders and trainers.
  • The decision of the judges is final and binding.

6. Prizes:

  • The winner will have their photo featured in the following month’s Photo of the Month CNP Safaris newsletter.
  • The winner will receive a voucher for a free 1-hour online one-on-one mentorship session with CNP Safaris, valid for one year from the announcement date.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

7. Usage Rights:

  • By submitting a photo, participants grant CNP Safaris permission to publish it in the next issue of our Photo of the Month newsletter and make one social media post to announce the winner on our social media platforms.
  • Participants retain the copyright of their submitted photos.

8. Privacy:

  • Personal information provided by participants will only be used for the purpose of administering the contest and will not be shared with third parties.

9. Disqualification:

  • CNP Safaris reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions or is deemed inappropriate, unethical, offensive, or fraudulent.

10. Amendments:

  • CNP Safaris reserves the right to amend the contest terms, conditions, and rules without prior notice.

11. Ethics of Capturing Nature Photographs:

  • Respect Wildlife: Always maintain a safe and respectful distance from animals. Avoid disturbing their natural behaviour for the sake of a photograph.
  • Leave No Trace: Do not damage the environment or disrupt habitats. Follow the principle of leaving no trace to preserve natural settings for future generations.
  • Honesty in Photography: Do not manipulate or stage scenes. Capture wildlife and landscapes as they are to maintain the authenticity and integrity of your photographs.
  • Consider the Impact: Be mindful of your presence’s potential impact on wildlife and the environment. Prioritise the welfare of nature over getting the perfect shot.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: When photographing local communities, seek permission and respect their customs and traditions. Build rapport and ensure your photography is a respectful representation of their culture.

12. Acceptance:

  • By entering the contest, participants agree to abide by all terms, conditions, rules, and ethical guidelines as stated above.
